Christ Classical Academy is excited to welcome Keith (“JR”) Sheets as our Head of School. Last year Mr. Sheets taught 9th grade Omnibus, Latin 1 and 2 and other electives.  Mr. Sheets brings a wealth of experience in a variety of areas including political work in the Washington, D.C., area, entrepreneurship, work for the Florida Department of Education, and missionary work in Scotland.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Plymouth State University (NH) and a Master of Divinity from Harding School of Theology (TN).  In addition to his work, Mr. Sheets enjoys English Premier League Soccer, baseball, NASCAR, travel, reading, preaching, and teaching.  The Sheets worship at Four Oaks Community Church.

hoffmannEric Hoffmann: Logic/Rhetoric Principal & Logic School Teacher

Mr. Hoffmann will be returning for his fifth year to the CCA staff for the 2017-2018 school year and will be serving as the Logic and Rhetoric Schools  Principal as well as teaching  Omnibus and Bible in the Logic school. Mr. Hoffmann’s previous experience has been with Westminster Academy in Ft. Lauderdale and Highlands Christian Academy in Pompano Beach, Florida; he taught history at both schools. Mr. Hoffmann received his M.A. in Christianity and Culture from Knox Theological Seminary and B.A. in Ancient and Medieval History from the University of Illinois. Mr. Hoffmann and his family are members of Wildwood Presbyterian Church.

Hope Carrasquilla: Grammar School Principal

Mrs. Carrasquilla, will return to Christ Classical Academy in 2017-2018 for her fifth year with CCA and her first year as the Grammar School Principal. Prior to joining Christ Classical Academy, Mrs. Carrasquilla taught at the Imagine School at Evening Rose and Holy Comforter Episcopal School.  Mrs. Carrasquilla received her teaching degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and has three boys who attend Christ Classical Academy.  She enjoys her time as the running club assistant coach as well as helping with the tennis team along side her father who serves as the head coach.  She, her husband, and boys attend St. Peter’s Anglican Church.

 BaumannKate Baumann:  Pre-Grammar School Principal & Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Baumann will be returning for a 5th year as Christ Classical Academy’s Kindergarten teacher and Pre-Grammar School Principal. Ms. Baumann brings over 14 years teaching experience to our Kindergarten program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the University of Central Florida. After years of management in the insurance industry she found her calling in education and has certifications in Early Childhood Pre-K thru 3, K thru 6, ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) and is certified for Mentoring student teachers. Kate started teaching while attending UCF’s Masters in Education classes. During this time Kate also led her church youth group and served on the church vestry/board. Ms. Baumann was instrumental in developing and implementing a church summer camp program and continued in the program for several years before moving to Tallahassee. Her family attends St. Peter’s Anglican Church, and her daughter Layla will be entering 4th grade at CCA.

Victor Carrasquilla is returning to CCA for the 2017-2018 school year as Dean of Students and Athletic Director. He received his B.A. in History with a Minor in Classical Civilization, and a M.S. in Social Science Secondary Education from Florida State University. Victor served in the USMCR from 1992-1998 in the Tank Unit here in Tallahassee. He taught middle school social studies at Aucilla Christian Academy in 1994 before going into the IT field where he worked for 16 years. Victor also worked for 2 years at John Paul II Catholic High School (2014-15) and Holy Comforter Episcopal School (2015-16) in their Technology departments. Victor will also be teaching sixth grade math, science and P.E., and he provides support for technology needs at the CCA. The Carrasquilla family attend St. Peters Anglican Church.

Meagan Rubottom: Business Manager

Meagan Rubottom will be returning to CCA for the 2017-2018 school year as the Business Manager. She received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Social Science from FSU. Meagan worked in banking for 8 years and previously worked as an administrator and bookkeeper for her church, her husband’s lawn maintenance company, and a property management company. Meagan substituted at CCA and taught middle school math from 2011 until the birth of her first daughter, Adella, who will be attending CCA in this year’s PK3 class. The Rubottoms love worshiping and serving at Center Point Church. Meagan looks forward to serving the families and staff of CCA in the front office.

 Pre-Grammar School

Mrs. Carroll will be returning for a third  year to CCA as the Pre-K 3 teacher.  Meredith grew up in Tallahassee and loves her hometown.  Meredith graduated from Flagler College with a BA in Business Administration and started a family, with her husband Joel, shortly after graduation.  After the birth of her first daughter she began working as a preschool teacher and completed her FCCPC.  She later completed the EPI program for teacher certification at Gulf Coast State College.  In 2015, Meredith completed her graduate coursework at the University of West Florida for Educational Leadership.  Meredith is the mother of four beautiful girls and all four of them attend CCA!  She and her family attend Lifepoint Church.  She is passionate about her family and teaching young children.

Clarame Campbell: PK4 Teacher

Mrs. Campbell joins us for the 2017-2018 school year as the Pre-K 4 teacher. Claramae received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College. She has previously taught 4th grade in Taiwan and 5th grade for four years at North Florida Christian School. Claramae has served CCA faithfully as a substitute and volunteer since her oldest children began attending CCA in 2015. Claramae and her husband Mark have 6 children aged 3 to 14 who will all attend Christ Classical Academy this year. When she isn’t teaching, parenting or driving kids to gymnastics, Claramae enjoys taking care of the Campbells’ growing flock of animals which now includes: a rabbit, 2 goats, chickens, a duck, a dog, and a gecko. The Campbell family attend North Florida Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lawton is returning for her second year at CCA and is thrilled to be joining the kindergarten team!  Amber is a native of Crawfordville and attended school in Wakulla County.  She graduated from Tallahassee Community College with an Associates of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.  After college, she felt God calling her to work with children. She received her National Child Development Associate Credential and for the past 8 years, has worked with preschool children in all capacities at Little Lambs Preschool.  Amber and her husband Tim attends Red Hills Church where they serve in the children’s ministry.  They enjoy adventures outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Mrs. Cushing will be returning for a fourth year as a first grade teacher and Running Club coach. Cathy is a long-time resident of Tallahassee. She attended both Mercer University and Florida State University, where she earned her bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education. This is her twenty-fourth year teaching. Mrs. Cushing has been married to her husband Pat for over twenty-eight years, and they have four children ranging in age from 18 to 23. The whole family is actively involved at Thomasville Road Baptist Church.

Sarah is a second grade teacher at CCA. She attended a classical Christian school when she was younger, and she graduated from Florida State University in May 2017 with a degree in Elementary Education. Sarah attends church at Downtown Community Church and enjoys spending time with family and friends in her free time.

Vickery Callaway is excited to begin her sixth year at Christ Classical Academy and her fourth year as a Second Grade teacher. Mrs. Callaway received her degree in Child Psychology from Florida State University in 2006. Her instructional methods seek to integrate the truth of Christ’s redemptive work into every part of the classroom. Mrs. Callaway and her husband are active members of Wildwood Presbyterian Church (PCA). Her two children, Bing and Mae, will be in third grade and first grade at CCA for the 2017-2018 school year. Mrs. Callaway is pleased to be part of the CCA family, and to share the love of Jesus with her students in a Christ-centered environment that fosters a love of integrated learning.

Mrs. Worrell will be returning for a 4th year at CCA and moving to 3rd grade. Kelly grew up in Tallahassee and attended Holy Comforter Episcopal School and North Florida Christian School. Kelly attended the University of Central Florida, during which time she studied abroad in both England and Russia. She graduated in 2007, earning both a BA in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from college, she worked overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan as a government contractor until she started her family and relocated to Tallahassee. Most recently she worked as a substitute teacher at CCA before becoming a full-time faculty member.  She, her husband Joel, and two sons attend St. Peter’s Anglican Church and she looks forward to having her oldest son at CCA this year in the Pre-K4 class.

Christina Williamson will be returning for a third year at CCA as a 3rd grade teacher. She came to us from the Leon County School System where she taught for five years. She graduated from Flagler College with a BA in Elementary Education and is certified in K-6th grade, Exceptional Education, and English for Speakers of Other Languages. She and her husband Daniel have two small children. She and her family are members of Grace Church of Tallahassee. In her spare time, Christina likes to spend time reading and playing with her girls. She looks forward to another wonderful year at CCA.  She is excited her oldest daughter will be joining the CCA Pre-K 4 program this year.

Dan Dodge: 4th Grade Teacher

Dan Dodge will be joining us as a fourth-grade teacher at Christ Classical Academy. Dan graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelors degree in Secondary Education Language Arts. He previously has served as a college campus minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area. Prior to that he taught Language Arts in Orange County and Osceola County public schools. He and his wife have one daughter. They attend Trinity Anglican Church.

Morgan Wichmann: 4th Grade Teacher

Morgan Wichmann will join our faculty this year as a fourth grade teacher. Mrs. Wichmann has a received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Flagler College. She has previous experience teaching language arts to sixth graders. She and her husband Steven have two sons, Levi and Asher, who will be attending CCA this school year. When not teaching, Mrs. Wichmann enjoys reading, going to library events, and spending time with her family. The Wichmann family attends the Nazarene Church of Monticello.

Mrs. Lehman is joining the CCA Faculty for the 2016-17 year as the fifth grade teacher. After being a homeschooling mother for many years, she is excited to return to the classroom. Mrs. Lehman earned her B.S. in English Education from Florida State University and taught in the Wakulla County School system as well as Florida State University School before becoming a stay at home mom. Through Classical Conversations, Mrs. Lehman has employed Classical methodology within her homeschool and has tutored at the grammar and rhetorical levels as well. She is looking forward to applying this knowledge in the classroom. She and her husband, Stacy, have 3 daughters, ages 11, 15, and 18, two of whom will be attending CCA this year. Some of her favorite things are her family, reading, and spending time at the beach. The Lehmans are active members at Thomasville Road Baptist Church.

bodohKarissa Bodoh: Drama and Writing Teacher

Mrs. Bodoh returns for a third year as a CCA faculty. Her roles will be one of the Grammar School drama teacher, Logic School writing teacher and daily morning chapel leader. Mrs. Bodoh graduated from FSU with a BA in the Humanities. She served as an InterVarsity Campus Minister at FSU for eight years and is passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ and empowering students to be servant-leaders. Mrs. Bodoh and her husband Taylor recently returned to Tallahassee after studying at Trinity School for Ministry. Along with several other CCA families, the Bodohs are planting Incarnation Tallahassee Church downtown in partnership with St. Peter’s Anglican. They have two daughters attending CCA.

Mrs. Robson joined the CCA faculty in 2016 as the grammar school music teacher.  She received her BME from Ohio University and her MME from Capital Conservatory of Music.  She also studied at the Zoltan Kodaly Pedagogical Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary where she completed her Kodaly Certification.  She and her family moved to Tallahassee from Malawi, Africa where they were missionaries.  Jessica’s husband is the Pastor of Center Point Church (PCA).  They have three children who attend CCA.  Mrs. Robson loves teaching children to sing beautifully to the glory of God.

Daisha Sheets will be returning to the CCA Faculty as an Art Teacher. Daisha was born into a house of educators. Her love of learning, first fostered in home school, was further developed at Harding Academy (Searcy, AR). She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Harding University where she graduated in 2002. Upon graduation, Daisha taught at Cabot Junior High South (Cabot, AR) before taking a youth ministry position in New Jersey. After moving to the Washington DC area, Daisha worked for Fairfax County schools. Most recently, Daisha’s family served on the mission field in the Northeast of Scotland. While on the mission field, Daisha not only homeschooled her two children, but also taught numerous Bible classes for a variety of ages. Having fallen in love with Classical Education in 2009, she is thrilled to be a part of CCA. Daisha has a love of learning and collecting new information and new skills. In addition to teaching herself photography for her own small business, she taught herself how to sew, paint, web-design, and upholster. Daisha is married to Jr Sheets who is our Head of School.  They have two children, both students at CCA: Gideon (age 10) and Naomi (age 8). The Sheets family currently worships at Four Oaks Community Church. Guy Weideman: PE Teacher

Guy Weideman will be joining the CCA Faculty this year as the lower school P.E. teacher, lower school aid, and 4th grade science lab teacher. Mr. Weideman graduated from high school from London Central High School in London, England. He received his bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University and got his master’s in social work from F.S.U. He has previously taught 2nd-4th in South Florida and at Hawksrise Elementary. Guy and his wife Joni have two children who will both return to CCA this year. In his spare time, Guy likes to run distance. The Weidemans attend Morningside Baptist.

Mrs. Schaefer returns to CCA for her third year to teach 6th grade Literature, Writing, and History.  She has been involved in classical education for 8 years.  Meredith holds a BA in English Literature with a minor in Humanities from The Florida State University.  For 12 years, she and her husband have been involved in leadership of their local church.  They helped launch the Four Oaks Midtown Campus in 2013.   She and her husband have two sons at CCA.  She loves to inspire students (alongside their parents) to marvel that they were made for learning and understanding now and forevermore…so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7.

Mr. Kauffman returns to CCA to teach rhetoric school Omnibus and Latin. Previous CCA assignments have included Omnibus 3 and Logic School writing, logic, and Latin, among others. Before CCA Mr. Kauffman taught Latin, history, composition, and doctrine at Trinity School at Meadowview in Falls Church, VA, and British Literature at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA. He received his BA in History and English from Washington & Lee University, MA in the Great Books from St. John’s College, and MDiv from Trinity School for Ministry. Mr. Kauffman has a passion for education and discipleship, and he and his wife, Christina, and children, Mary, Hannah, Luke, and Jack, attend St. Peter’s Anglican Church.

Josh LaJeunesse is joining CCA for the 2016-2017 school year to teach Omnibus 4, Greek I, Logic, and Rhetoric. Josh received his B.A. in Ancient Greek from Florida State University. He also studied Biblical Hebrew while dabbling in Modern Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, and Latin. He is currently finishing up his Master of Divinity through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For the past two years Josh has served as the youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Woodville, Florida and continues to do so. Josh enjoys watching Florida State football, playing basketball, and traveling with his wife, Katherine.

Megan Soper: Logic School Logic, Bible and Latin

Megan is joining the CCA faculty this year as a 6th grade logic, Bible, and Latin teacher. She is a wife and mom of (almost!) 2 year old Hazel and she is currently the student ministry director at Element3 Church. Megan graduated with honors from Florida State University with a Bachelors in Communication and Religion in 2013 competing an undergraduate Thesis on the Rhetoric of Acts. She completed her Masters Degree from Florida State University in Communication in 2015 with her Thesis on Presidential Speech Rhetoric. Megan taught Public Speaking at Florida State for 4 years and is excited that The Lord has led her back to the classroom!

Holly Schans returns for a second year to CCA as the primary Logic & Rhetoric school math teacher. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in education. During her time at FSU, she was a recipient of the Robert Noyce Scholarship and attended a national conference designed for teachers of STEM courses. She currently attends Four Oaks Midtown. She also works at an OPC summer camp every year as a staff member/counselor. In her spare time, Holly enjoys playing and watching sports of all kinds, slack lining, and playing with her adorable 6 year old “puppy”, a Lab/Sheppard mix, Fisher.

Mrs. Woodham joined the Christ Classical Academy team in 2012. After spending five years in the Grammar School as a teacher and administrator, she is excited to be teaching 11thgrade Omnibus this year. Prior to joining the CCA staff, Mrs. Woodham served as a missionary for five years in Ukraine and Mexico where she directed an English as a second language program, mentored intern teachers, and taught English as a Second Language classes. She has a B.A. in Russian Language and Literature from Florida State University. It was during her time in the Russian department that she first became interested in classical education when studying rhetoric in medieval Rus literature. She and her husband, Jay, have two sons who attend CCA and a newborn daughter. Her family attends St. Peter’s Anglican Church where she and her husband serve in the discipleship ministry.

Richard Lynes will be teaching the seventh grade science course at Christ Classical Academy for a fourth year as well as teaching Logic & Rhetoric School Biology. Mr. Lynes is very excited to offer his students the chance to embrace science and religion without having to sacrifice any beliefs in our Lord and Savior. Mr. Lynes was born and raised in Savannah, GA where he graduated from Benedictine Military School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UGA and worked as a chemist for a year. While working a second job as a carpenter, Mr. Lynes realized his passion for building, and decided to attend Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis and attain a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an engineer for 11 years at three different factories. He and his wife, Jennifer, started their family in 2008 and shortly thereafter, Mr. Lynes quit engineering to become a stay at home dad. The Lynes Family moved to Tallahassee in 2009 and have been blessed with a fabulous church home at St. Peter’s Anglican Church.  Mr. and Mrs. Lynes  have three beautiful girls, all of whom will be attending CCA this year.

Kevin Hsieh: Logic and Rhetoric Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics

Dr. Kevin Hsieh will be joining Christ Classical Academy this year to teach Logic and Rhetoric Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology. He then pursued a master’s degree in Chemistry at Florida State University. God led Kevin on a different path and decided to pursue Chemical Engineering at Florida State University. In 2015, he finished his masters and doctorate at Florida State University. Dr. Hsieh (pronounced “Dr. Shay”) also teaches Chemistry at TCC and works full-time at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He attends Four Oaks Midtown.

Karen Hill: Art History, Film Studies, Logic Teacher

Karen Hill returns to Christ Classical Academy this year to teach logic, film studies, and art history in the Logic School. Karen has a Bachelor of Art from Auburn University and a Master’s of Art History and Philosophy from FSU. Karen and her husband Jimmy were among the founding families of Christ Classical Academy. She has taught nearly everything at our school at some point, and she has the privilege of being the mother of the first student to attend CCA from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. Karen has also organized the school’s Europe trip multiple times. When not teaching or parenting, Karen enjoys creating art and traveling. Karen and Jimmy have four children, and they worship at Wildwood Church.
