Lunch Pail

Lunch Options: Pizza and Zaxby’s – New Gluten-Free Pizza Option

This year our lunch options for the students will be Zaxby’s on Tuesdays and Papa John’s pizza on Fridays. The Zaxby’s offering will be a kids meal of a chicken sandwich, chips, and a cookie for $5, and the Papa John’s pizza will be $2 a slice for cheese or pepperoni. You will be able to order both from RenWeb until noon the day before the food is served (order by noon on Monday for Zaxby’s and noon on Thursday for pizza on Friday). You can also order ahead as far as the end of this school year.

Papa John’s offers a small gluten-free pizza (6 slices). We have added two slices of this pizza to our Friday lunch orders for $3. This option has been added on a trial basis – if no one orders this pizza, we will discontinue this option. While Papa John’s does follow appropriate procedures for gluten-free preparation, we are still working out the practicalities of offering this item on our campuses. If you have a gluten-free child and would like to volunteer on either campus during lunch for the first few weeks, we would greatly appreciate it!

Please note the following advisory from the Papa John’s Website and see their site for more information:

  • If I have Celiac Disease is it safe for me to eat a pizza made with Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust?

  • Papa John’s does not recommend pizzas with Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust for customers with Celiac Disease. Although Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust is gluten-free and Papa John’s employs procedures to prevent contact with gluten, it is possible that a pizza with Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust is exposed to gluten during the ordinary preparation process. Please use your best judgment in ordering a pizza with Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust if you have a sensitivity to gluten.

Orders can be placed through Parents Web – login at https://www.renweb.com/Logins/ParentsWeb-Login.aspx

Once you have logged into RenWeb, Click on “Student Information” then “Lunch” and “Create Web Order.” After you have entered your order, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click “Order Items.” You can confirm your items have been ordered by checking the calendar under the lunch tab – it may be helpful to change the view to “month”. Orders that have been placed will show in blue.

CCA will automatically cancel orders for field trip days or special event days, but due to advanced order requirements you will be charged for missed lunched due to absence. As with all expenses at the school you will be billed on your next bill for the lunches you ordered and received.

Don’t forget that you still need to send water and a snack on Lunch Pail days!
