September 2010 Kindergarten class tells us about our senses

We are happy to present the senses of our body by the Kindergarten class of 2010-11.
sense of touch   sense of taste
sense of smell       sense of sight

April 2010 100 years for the boy scouts and our 3rd grade

We are honored to have many scouts in our community.  This month was the 100th anniversary of the scouts and our local troop was at the capital to open the session with the pledge.  Our 3rd grade class came with them and took a tour of the capital.  They even had a surprise visit with the Governor.

April 2010 K-8th trip to Sweet Grass Farms

It began as a 7th and 8th grade trip ad ended being the entire lower school.  In science the topic was bacteria and fungi.  What better than cheese. Our children got to experience farm life, cheese tasting and goats.  Lots of goats.

March 2010 3rd to 5th Grade Florida Caverns
We wanted to share a few pictures of the kids heading our to Florida Caverns State park in Marianna Florida.  They saw what they had been studying all year in science.

September 2009 4th ad 5th grade Science Class:

We wanted to share a few pictures of the kids making (and eating) the animal and plant cell models made in class on Friday (10/2)  using jell-o as the cytoplasm and other fun edibles -- grapes as the nucleus, mini-marshmallows as vacuoles, green Mike-N-Ikes as the chloroplast, etc.  The kids drew amazing diagrams of these cells as well that are in their science binders.

Enjoys the pics of your little scientists  Thank you Mrs. Caylor

Jan 3 thru the 10th Washington DC trip

Our 5th and 6th grade class is in Washington DC to begin the new 2009 semester to see the Smithsonian Museum, The National Monuments, the Mall between the different branches of government and a private tour of the White House.  This has been a great bonus to this year's class as they have been studying American history all year long.

Meisburg Scholarship Fund Launched

In honor of one of our school's most faithful friends, CCA is launching the Clara Frances Meisburg Scholarship Fund. Ms. Meisburg has been a true blue supporter of CCA from the start, and her love of our school has been a source of encouragement to many parents, teachers, administrators and students. Ms. Meisburg is the grandmother of four current CCA students: James Healy (10th), Clara Frances McClure (6th), Mary Kathryn Healy (4th) and Anne Jackson McClure (3rd).

Please consider making a generous donation to this new scholarship fund that honors Ms. Meisburg.
